Camp Description:
The ‘TES Summer Games’ will be a Olympic style competition of soccer in Ridgefield, CT.
The Summer Games will be a fantastic way to set the tone for the 2 following TES Soccer Camps, August 5-9 and August 12-16. Players will be participating in a fun, competitive, engaging and developmentally appropriate environment with seasoned professional coaches. The objective of ‘The Summer Games’ is to provide a fun experience while improving soccer skills through a variety of activities and games.
Activities and Games:
The activities and games below are split into categories addressing technical and fitness related topics. The objective is to have an event that covers all aspects of soccer, making ‘The Summer Games’ a true test of the individual player’s abilities.
Example of Events:
The ‘PowerStrike’
This event is aimed at working on the technique of kicking the ball at long distances. Any technique may be used but the ball must be struck off the ground. Distance is measured from when the ball first bounces. Each player will get 3 tries and the furthest off the 3 will be the documented score.
Benefits of the Camp:
The camp is designed to be challenging for all participants and fully adaptable to any ability and experience level. All participants will benefit technically and physically.
Each event has been designed to work on a specific part of soccer that is needed to develop a player’s overall game. There will also be small sided games, 1v1 and 2v2 games working on game-based improvement. With a lot of coach attention and work on technique at the start of the day, the players will have much opportunity to get prepared to reach the next level of play.
This camp is designed to enhance the Ridgefield summer soccer experience and will work alongside promoting the skills of the TES Sidekick program as well as the TES player development philosophy. It is highly recommended that players consider attending the other TES camps in the summer in order to benefit from the progression of skills participants will be exposed to from one camp to another.
